2018 Election: Amarilys Acosta

Candidate For Executive Board Member, Extension/Off Campus

Amarilys Acosta is a young dynamic woman who comes from a humble and loving family. She was born in Puerto Rico and came to the U.S. as a teenager. This enabled her to be fluent in two languages, English and Spanish. As the oldest of five children, she became responsible and mature at an early age. Amarilys is the mother of a very funny and precocious three‐year‐old. Ms. Acosta is a community assistant for the Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) of Essex County. The program she works for is called Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). Her job is to teach basic nutrition classes to limited resource audiences. Her job has helped her listen to people needs and to help in any way she can. Ms. Acosta is very caring, understanding, and responsible. She wants to provide people with advice, comfort, and knowledge. Amarilys desires to change and construct a stronger place for the people to go to. She wants the best for everyone and a win‐win solution for all parties involved. Vote AA, that’s the best way!
