I am Alessandra (Ali) Sperling, and I am running for the VP of the New Brunswick campus because I believe in our right to fight for a positive and healthy workplace, competitive and fair salaires, and a mutually respectful working relationship with management. My primary role at the University is with the SAS English Writing Program, as the Department Administrator. In that role, I work with many colleagues across Rutgers in order to schedule 250 faculty members in approximately 800 sections of universally required classes for 15,000 students. This role requires organization, setting and meeting deadlines, and working collaboratively with a wide range of professionals across campus. I plan on organizing in that same way and, in many instances, with those same colleagues in the role of VP of New Brunswick. Our Union has important goals that need to be met in the next contract, and I am here to represent your needs. But, I will need all of you to achieve our goals. I promise you, in return, organization, an energizing force, enthusiasm, and inspiration. I am here to make space for your concerns, to organize meaningful modes of communications, and to speak to Union leadership about our issues.
